A man of many talents Garnet McPherson is best known for his work in communications and eco-social design, education and advocacy. But one of the hats Garnet wears well is that of the story teller. "Garnet McPherson is a wordsmith in every sense of the word." says Devon Manning director of My Go To Experts. Working primarily in print, digital media, and film "Garnet shares his insights into human culture and its impact on our world." He got his first job in journalism when still a teen and has never stopped sharing his insights into the issues that are impacting humanity and the planet. After collage he pursued a full time career as a freelance investigative journalist covering environmental and social impact stories around the world. As a writer he has worked in a wide variety of media. Over the years he has edited journals, written books, poetry, plays, film scripts, and even helpful solution focused guides to various forms of success. He explores subjects that range from communication, photography, the environment, sustainable and healthy living, bio-diversity, survival, philosophy and his personal quest "to find signs of intelligent life on planet Earth". He has been a ghostwriter for several public figures and has spent decades guiding many would be authors on their journey into story telling. As the founder and president of The National Ghostwriters Guild he continues to mentor other writers across the country. He has also been the editor of Sustainable Living Magazine and the host of The Greenzine for a number of years. As an educator he has been on the communications faculty of Sheridan Collage and the Creative Arts Institute. Garnet has a passion for empowering students to learn advanced skills in communications and has developed programs in photography, film, writing and graphic design. His other life long passion is the evolution of a sustainable human culture so Garnet also funded and designed the entire curriculum for the Earthwalk Eco-Education centre. A change maker at heart, Garnet was the founder of the Visioneers Group a multi-disciplined think tank that has been working behind the scenes around the world to facilitate a shift to a more sustainable and healthy human culture As an eco-social / permaculture designer Garnet McPherson has designed many intentional community projects for Earthworks and has lectured at several schools, collages and universities on creating a sustainable future. As busy as he is, Garnet still appears as a keynote speaker for My Go To Expert at community and corporate events across the country. Garnet has served on the board of many environmental and cultural projects and his time is booked pretty solid so that he still finds any time to write anything is impressive. Garnet McPherson - The Author His work in eco social design and education has kept him pretty busy over the years but he has been able to find some time for a few book projects. Here is a few of his projects that reflect a little light on his journey, some of his interests and the wide range of his experience.
Watch for new releases in 2025 Garnet McPherson has packed more into one lifetime then several average men combined and he has worn an impressive number of hats during each chapter in his life. As a result he as a wealth of wisdom on many aspects of human culture. He does not like being called a guru and says "I am just a student of living on this rock" But he is so much more.
For some time we have been asking him to publish an auto-biography where he can share his many adventures, mis-adventures and the many opportunities he has had "to learn more about becoming more". He prefers talking speaking and writing about the world we life in, but it seems with much encouragement, an auto-biography is now in the works and it will be called "The Man With Nine Lives" Watch for it.

  Besides supporting numerous environmental initiatives over the years, in 2011 Garnet McPhrson provided facilities and funding for a centre for the arts in eastern Ontario. It was called The Arts Club. A community centre for the arts which over the years supported a total of 16 arts organizations while also providing a performing arts venue for the local theatrical projects. In this way he was able to support many arts initiatives in the community, by providing creative space, exhibit space, and educational space for the development of local arts and cultural projects. The Arts Club provided space for arts courses, dance events, concerts, film festivals, comedy nights, and productions studios of documentries and music videos. Garnet McPherson - The Playwright During this time Garnet McPherson wrote and directed a number of stage productions at the centre and began developing some of his film scripts. Some of the productions were science fictions set in the future where he projected possible senerios that provided a glimpse into of what could be our future if we don't alter the current directions of society. Here are a few examples: THE ACCIDENTAL HITCHICKER - (2012) Synopsis - This play by Garnet McPherson is about a eccentric but bright Government Scientist "Edmund Edwards" who stumbles across a time machine hidden in a top secret bunker and inadvertently ends up hitchhiking 50 years into a future where multinational corporations (the Council) have taken control of the planetary financial system and as a result all government institutions. However the head of the Council "Lucifus Barkus" is facing the en-pending rapid collapse of the planets Eco systems and a resulting green rebellion from its citizens (The Tribes). Lucifrus is confident in the power he wealds and innitially does not take the rising of the Tribes seriously. Edmund manages to infiltrate the leadership of the Tribes and devises a plan to over through the Council by a number of campaigns starting with popularizing a new media of exchange in the form of a green blockchain based currency (Earth Coins) which rewards people primarily in relation to their positive social and environmental impact. The goal is to pull the underpinnings of The Council by replacing their imposed global FIAT currency with the Earth Coins created by The Tribes thus rendering their financial grip on the people useless. The Councils power rests with its economic control of the citizens. As citizens widely adopt Earth Coins as their preferred currency the Council realizes its control is threatened and en-devours to hunt down and destroy the Tribes leaders and in particular Edmund. Each act of the play depicts another form of attack on the Council and the tensions builds as the Tribe and the Council square off in a number of show downs. THE NIGHT WATCHMAN - (2014) Synopsis - The Night Watchman is a somewhat dark play by Devon Manning and Garnet McPherson about a night watchman who inadvertently uncovers a secret plot by the deranged CEO of a bio engineering company that feels that the only hope for the planet is to reduce the human population through the covert use of genetically targeted bio weapons. His intentions are to sell his creations to the highest bidder. The night watchman (a moonlighting biologist) decides he is going to sabotage those plans and gets mixed up in some hair razing and dangerous scenarios as he try's to unravel the project. In his struggle to become an expert at industrial espionage he finally solicits the assistance of one of the companies scientists, She is a beautiful and very smart academic who has let her misgivings about some of the experiments she has been asked to perform slip out during casual conversations. They team up but don't know who is in on the secret project so they keep walking a fine line as they investigate and craft their plan. The two of them soon find out that they are putting a lot more on the line than their jobs as they attempt to interfere with the secret project that the company execs have ironically dubbed “The Cleanse” This play brings us to the brink of deaster and we only find out how it turns out in the final minutes of the performance.  CONVENIENCE - (2020) Synopsis - Garnet McPherson's most recent play called Convenience. Its about the existential threat posed by Artificial Intelligence and the potential for the human race to be subjugated by AI robots that were created for our "convenience", but end up taking over control of our lives and are in the process of taking over our world. What starts out as an public service tech company called Convenience has created a line of robots that are simply better than humans at almost everything. This "little" tech company is quickly becoming more powerful than anyone had imagined. It is in fact well on its way to becoming the new world order before anyone really takes notice. By accident the hereon gains access to its headquaters only to find that the companies AI robots have already done away with its human creators and is now totally run by self maintaining and replicating robots. Convenience is on the verge of taking over global governance so she leads an underground team of academics and scientists who are trying to find a way Convenience can be shut down permanently. The book that his friends have been asking him to write for many years is actually in the works. So stay tuned for the release of "The Man With Nine Lives" coming soon. Garnet McPherson Garnet is a passionate environmentalist and has been involved with eco education and advocacy most of his life. He could see the writing on the wall even as a young man and knew we were heading towards and eco system crisis if did not change. But public awareness and ultimately action can be very slow moving objects. He knew we had to change the common paradigm around mans relationship to nature. He felt it was critical to protect the wonders of the natural world that future generations will depend on. So over the years, he invested his resources and his time in support of changing mankind's perspective on his vital role in environmental stewardship. "We too often forget that we are part of the natural world. It is our life support system and when we destroy it we are destroying the future for mankind as well." In the 1990's Garnet brought together a team of forward thinkers from a variety of disciplines to form the Visioneers think tank from which a number of sustainable projects have spun off. Garnet established the Earthwalk Eco Education Center, where he developed environmental programing for educational caruculum, he then created Serenity a holistic health center on Lake Ontario, he founded Sustainable Living Magazine and worked with a team of consultants to develop Earthworks Eco Villages a consulting service for eco village design and an innovation center that focuses on sustainable design. He also developed a business incubator called Leading Edg that focuses on green innovations and business acceleration. The ecoprenurial projects that have come from that range from Natural Buildings that specializes in healthy home and green construction, to The Arts Club a community arts center.
